What phrase do you hear or say when things are going your way?
Lately, I hear the voice of Stephen Briggs in my head saying, “Hooray, hooray, it’s a wonderful day, for I have found my cow!”
No. I don’t own any cows.
It’s a quote from a really fun book, Thud! by Terry Pratchett. Stephen Briggs is the narrator for the Audible version of the book.
The quote is from a picture book that Sam Vimes reads to his fourteen-month-old son every night at 6 p.m.
Every. Night.
“No excuses. No excuses at all. Once you had a good excuse, you opened the door to bad excuses.” — Sam Vimes
Other celebratory phrases that I hear/sing/say:
“Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Halle-a-lujah!” to the tune of the Hallelujah Chorus.
“Everything is awesome!” from the Lego movie.
and my all-time favorite, “Thank you, Lord!” I say this when:
- the checkbook ledger balances,
- when I get something right on the first try
- when I finally get my desired result on the tenth try (yes, I have perfectionist tendencies…)
Today is a celebration day for me because I am finally ready to launch a digital product that has been in the works for more than three months.
Check back here again tomorrow to see what it is …
