Dr. Todd LePine talked about a variety of topics related to autoimmunity. His points were very detail specific and easy act on.
For instance, did you know that the nickel in stainless steel cookware and utensils can be problematic?
Or, that when testing for Vitamin D, it is important to test for both D-25 and D-125? Listen to his interview today to find out why.
Dr. Dan Kalish focused on Adrenal Fatigue but much of what he said applies to other autoimmune conditions also. He described three sources for stress – emotional, dietary, and inflammatory – and explained how they contribute to autoimmunity.
Dr. Kalish clearly described some symptoms of adrenal fatigue which include (but are not limited to) physical exhaustion, anxiety/depression, and weight gain.
Dr. Frank Lipton talked about autoimmunity from the perspective of someone trained in Chinese medicine, acupuncture, mind/body, and functional medicine. Definitely a different point of view than most American physicians.
He gave many applicable tips from stress reduction to cleansing. Dr. Lipton reminds us that “the normal things we do on a day-to-day basis have this strong healing capacity that we just take for granted.”
Dr. Leo Galland’s interview was on the topic of Understanding Triggers and Treatments for Inflammatory Bowel Disease. He very clearly explained the distinction between Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.
Diet is crucial for managing these diseases.
Dr. Galland talked about the role of parasites and how they are sometimes beneficial.
Sara Ballantyne described the problems with grains and legumes in those with autoimmunity. Sara went into great detail explaining the immune system and leaky gut.
If you want to know about the role of lectins from grains and legumes, this interview is one you don’t want to miss.
Sara emphasizes, “If you have an autoimmune disease and you’re looking to heal and you’re looking to include diet and lifestyle as part of your treatment strategies, healing the gut becomes an absolute cornerstone to that strategy.”
